I don’t understand what the deal is with America re-naming Japanese movies (other foreign movies as well) but I hate when they completely change it! It’s given it’s name for a reason. I feel like they’re damaging the movie by not at least translating it correctly.You can’t just change Totoro’s name to Big Billy…

Kari-gurashi no Arietti (借りぐらしのアリエッティ) just came out today in the US.

what was wrong with the translated title ‘The Borrower Arrietty’ which has been used since it’s original release in 2010?

it’s even based on the English novel, ‘The Borrowers’…

but they decided to change the name for American release to ‘The Secret World of Arrietty’

WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT? WHY GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO CHANGE IT TO THAT BORING, CLICHÉ NAME???

This is just one of the little things in life that anger me to no end…
